More About Casa del Sol
Meet Jocelyn

Jocelyn is a licensed K–12 Spanish educator with 20 years of experience teaching Spanish, Ethnic Studies, and English Language Learners in diverse learning environments. Her work is grounded in culturally responsive pedagogy, relationship-centered teaching, and best practices in language acquisition.

Since 2018, Jocelyn has led an ongoing adult Spanish language program that has grown organically through community connection and word of mouth. What began as a single class through Community Ed. has evolved into a thriving program offering weekly instruction across three proficiency levels. Her classes emphasize meaningful communication, confidence-building, and real-world language use, all within a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Jocelyn’s teaching philosophy centers on comprehensible input, storytelling, repetition, and human connection. She believes language learning should feel accessible, joyful, and empowering, not intimidating. Whether working with high school students or adults returning to language study, her goal is the same: to create spaces where learners feel seen, capable, and excited to use Spanish in their lives.

At the heart of Jocelyn’s work is community. Her classes are not just about grammar and vocabulary. They are about connection, culture, and belonging.
